Raymarine

Raymarine is a leading manufacturer of marine electronics and develops a very comprehensive range of electronic equipment for the recreational boating and light commercial marine markets.

Raymarine produces everything from radars, autopilots, GPS, and chart plotters, to instruments, fish finders, and communications hardware and software.

Raymarine was looking for a cover glass solution with various requirements for their new navigation equipment.

First, the cover glass had to have excellent readability in full sunlight and flawless optical quality to ensure that the clarity of the LCD wasn’t compromised.

Furthermore, the solution had to be resistant to moisture and salt water.

Lastly, the solution also had to be impact resistant to ensure the device’s longevity.

Based on these requirements, we developed a solution based on our Solaris™ product range.

The solution was a clear, thick acrylic (PMMA) solution with a Marine AR surface treatment. We machined the material into the exact dimensions needed to fit the cabinet of the navigation equipment. This precise manufacturing process ensures zero risk of condensation in the device.

Our cover glass solution is optimized for use on boats because of its great saltwater resistance and excellent readability in full daylight from all angles.
