Cleartech™ is a clear hard coated acrylic solution with a surface treatment that is applied to both the front and rear sides of the base material during the coating process.
By protecting both sides of the acrylic material, the risk of damage during mounting and assembly processes is significantly reduced. The benefits of this are, of course, fewer rejects and lower quality control costs.
Cleartech’s surface hardness (measured in pencil hardness) is among the best ever seen on plastics (6-8 H). Because of its durability, this solution is perfect for displays and devices used under challenging conditions daily such as displays on high-resolution ticketing machines or cameras that capture visible light.
Portable and handheld applications used in rough environments can also benefit from Cleartech’s scratch resistance and high optical performance.
If you are looking for a PMMA solution that has the same performance as Cleartech™ but in 1mm thickness, Hardtech™ is the perfect choice.
Hardtech™ has the same properties but only comes in 1 mm thickness.
Material can be cut and milled using high-speed routers and cutters suited for machining PMMA.
When laser cutting, pay attention to the fact that substrate and coating show different refractive indices, why proper adjustment of the laser beam is essential.
Ultrasonic welding is not possible.
When screen-printing, please note that the chemical properties of the coating are much different from PMMA, why it is recommended to test compatibility (adhesion) between the preferred screen ink system and substrate.
